about e2e
e2e is the open source verification layer for the agentic coding era. you describe what should work in plain language, and e2e checks it the way a user would, on web, iOS and Android. tests run in your terminal, in ci and inside coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex and Cursor. once an action passes its check, later runs replay it from cache without calling the model.
the code is Apache-2.0 and lives on GitHub, where developers from around the world report bugs, propose changes and add support for new platforms.
about the role
we’re hiring a chief of staff to run e2e’s operations alongside our co-founders, szymon (ceo) and oskar (cto). you’ll own how the company works day to day: the operational side of our enterprise work, meaning the security reviews, compliance and other requirements large companies have before they can use e2e, the revenue and p&l side of the business, and the special projects that don’t have an owner yet.
you’ll have the authority to change how things work. when a customer’s security review stalls, a number in the forecast doesn’t add up or a process slows the team down, you’re the one who fixes it. one quarter you might build the security and compliance documentation enterprise customers ask for and set up monthly reporting on revenue and costs; the next, you might take a large customer through its vendor review or launch a partner program.
there’s no playbook for this role and nobody will scope your week. you’ll have the same context as the founders, make decisions without waiting for them and tell them when you think they’re wrong.
what you will do
- lead operations across the company: how we plan, decide and follow through, and the vendors, tools and processes that keep e2e running.
- own the operational side of our enterprise work: security reviews and questionnaires, compliance, data protection and legal terms, and the documentation behind them, so no enterprise customer waits on us.
- own revenue and the p&l: the financial model, the budget, the forecast and monthly reporting on revenue, costs and runway, and the analysis that tells the founders where to put money and time next.
- prepare the numbers and the story for investors, and keep investor reporting accurate and on time.
- lead the special projects that matter but have no owner yet, such as a partner program or a change to how we sell, from the first plan to the result.
- build the systems, automations and agents that let operations scale without adding headcount.
what you need
- you’ve run operations, finance, revenue operations or strategy at a fast-growing software company, been a chief of staff, come from consulting, banking or investing, or founded a company yourself.
- you’ve owned the numbers before: you can build a financial model and a p&l from scratch and explain what moves them.
- you know what large companies require from a software vendor, and you’ve taken a company through security reviews, compliance work or vendor onboarding.
- you turn a vague brief into a clear plan, make good calls with incomplete information and see things through without reminders.
- you can disagree with a founder in the room, handle hard conversations honestly and kindly, and commit fully once a decision is made.
- you use ai tools every day and have built at least one workflow or agent that saves you real time.
- you work well remotely and across time zones.
bonus if you
- have worked at a developer tools or open source company.
- have led a compliance program such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001.
- have set up billing or a finance stack from scratch.
- have helped a company raise a funding round.
- can read code, or have shipped something of your own with a coding agent.
this role is not for you if
- you need a clear job description and fixed boundaries to do your best work.
- it bothers you when work you put time into gets reprioritized or dropped.
- you’d rather advise than be accountable for the result.
if you match most of this but not all of it, apply anyway.
